Compassion+ Home Care has a number of services designed to meet your specific needs. We are proud to offer companionship , homemaking , and personal non-medical home care services. Can you do short term care? Yes. We never require you to “need” care for any specific amount of time. We can work with you to create a plan of care specific to your individual needs. We can provide as few as 4 hours and as many as 24 hours per day. Can your service care for a client in a facility (hospital, nursing home, or assisted living)? Yes. We can provide services to care for residents in a facility who desire one-to-one companionship and personal care. What if a client has to go in to a facility? Our services can be transferred to a hospital or facility as deemed appropriate by our Director and client request. Or service may be put on hold until the client returns home. Do I have to sign a contract? Compassion+ Home Care is here to meet your needs, and as needs change, so does your service. Therefore, we do not enter into long term contracts with our clients, but simply have a financial agreement stating our rates, terms and conditions for payment. We require a 2 week deposit that is equivalent to hours requested in a 2 week period. Any unused portion will be refunded at the end of service. What if the client wants to terminate service before the end of the service period in the agreement? They can do this by giving 14 days written notice. A refund will be made for all days of service not rendered. After that, a full refund will be made for any unused days. Refund payments will be sent within 30 days of the last day of service. How often do I get billed? Billing is done on a bi-weekly basis. What does my fee cover? The fee covers your caregiver's wages and all wage taxes, background screening, w/c insurance, bonding. If there is a couple living together? Our base rates are for a single individual. There is generally a 25% percent surcharge for an extra individual in the home regardless of the level of care, if any, the second person needs. This may be adjusted, depending on individual needs. Is there any additional cost to me? No, the fee is inclusive. The only additional cost that might occur is mileage when you ask your caregiver to run errands in their vehicle. What if I need to speak to someone in the office after business hours? Compassion+ office staff is available to help deal with your inquiries and problems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When the office is closed, there is a duty on-call person available to help you. Why would I hire a Compassion+ agency caregiver vs. a private caregiver? Compassion+ Home Care would recommend that you do not hire privately unless you are prepared to be an employer of caregivers. The following are just a few of the things you must take into consideration when hiring privately. *Once you hire a caregiver privately, you are responsible for all state and federal payroll taxes. *You must obtain Workers Compensation Insurance or make sure your private caregiver comes with insurance. If not, you could be responsible for any injuries claimed to have happened while working at your home. How will you pay for any claims of disability if they are filed against you? *What happens if the private person doesn't show up for work? Are you prepared to stay home and take care of your loved one? Or if the care is for you, are you prepared to be left alone without care if the caregiver does not show up? *Is the private caregiver bonded against theft? *Who will supervise him/her? There are too many questions and problems when hiring privately. We do not recommend this option at all. What should I be looking for in a non-medical home care company that would indicate superior or high-quality services for my loved one? The best in-home care companies provide immediate response to your home care needs. How long will it take to get a caregiver? Our staff will start recruiting efforts on your behalf as soon as you are set up as a client. We may make a referral immediately or it may take up to 3-5 business days. Our goal is to refer dependable caregivers that will satisfy you and your needs, you can be assured that our staff will be working diligently on your behalf. Does Medicare or Medicaid pay for a service like this ? No, unfortunately not. This type of care is considered custodial care and because of the nature of the
